A heart story...

I just wanted to share this blog I came across... Arise and Go.

The blog is about a young lady who was interning in China at a home for orphans with special needs.  She came across a little girl with a Congenital Heart defect.  She fell in love with the little girl and wanted to get her the help she needed.  She ended up raising the funds needed so the little girl could get life saving surgery.  In the end the young lady's family ended up adopting the little girl, so now they are sisters.  It is a beautiful story of love and how every child deserves a chance at life.

The young lady now is advocating for another little orphan who is also in need of heart surgery.  It has become her mission to help these heart babies have a chance at life.

There are stories like this all throughout China and the world.  Children who need life saving surgeries to have a chance a life and then to be adopted.  I just wanted to share this story in case anyone out there felt inclined to help.

Our little Chu Chu is also a CHD baby.  And her life was saved in China by an organization that does exactly this.  They provide life saving surgeries and then the after care needed to help the children recover.  Chu Chu has a very rare CHD and without surgery she would not have survived.  She is doing very good now and we pray that her heart will always stay strong and healthy.

We will be forever grateful to Chu Chu's biological parents whom we are sure had to make a heart breaking decision to give her up so she could have a chance at life.  And to all the people who have and are taking care of her until we get to bring her home.  She has been very fortunate to receive such great care.  We are forever grateful.

And we want to share stories like this to bring awareness to these issues.  These are issues that will always be very near and dear to our hearts.  And when a lot of people help out, it does not take much to help these children get the surgeries they need.

Beautiful Bali

Hello Everyone!  Happy Chinese New Year!  This year we went to Bali to celebrate and it did not disappoint.  This will be our last holiday before we get our girl, also known as a baby moon. ;o)  So we definitely just wanted to sit back, relax and enjoy ourselves.  Because we will definitely still go on holidays once our girl gets here, but it will probably involve things like crying, balloons, diaper changing, clowns, hot dogs, strollers, nap time, toys, vomiting, sippy cups, early nights, early mornings, cartoons, bribery????  ;o) In reality we are not really sure what will be involved.  I really hope clowns aren't involved. ;o) but in all honestly no matter what is involved we are both really excited!  We know and have been "warned" that holidays will be different from here on out but we are o.k. with that. ;o)

So here are some pics from Bali!

almost missed our transfer flight...had to run to make it...so we got upgraded to first class...worked for me ;o)
